Před osmdesáti lety navečer byla osvobozena Ostrava

Na připomínku konce vrcholné části Ostravské nebo také Ostravsko-opavské operace nebyli pozváni zástupci armády, která se nejvíce zasloužila o vítězství. Tedy Rudé armády. Mohl to jistě být i Ukrajinec, když generál Moskalenko, jeden z velitelů operace, pocházel z ukrajinského Pokrovsku, jiný velitel, Jeremenko, z Markivky u Luhanska, další, Grečko, se sice narodil v Donbasu, ale na ruské straně hranic, a podle jména pocházela jeho rodina z Ukrajiny. První závadou však bylo, že jejich rodným jazykem byla ruština, druhým pak, že byli sovětskými veliteli, později dokonce maršály, a to se na Ukrajině a tím v celé eurounijní říši nenosí. Takže, rudé Ukrajince, veterány z války, na oslavách také nechtěli.

Ve večerních hodinách 30. dubna, tedy před osmdesáti lety, byla Ostrava a mnoho míst zdejšího kraje konečně svobodnými. Ve vojenské operaci, která mířila k osvobození severní Moravy a Slezska, však zahynulo 24 000 rudoarmějců a československých tankistů a podpůrných jednotek (1. čs. armádní sbor) a 89 000 bylo zraněno. Naše jednotka zde přišla dokonce o všechny tanky a jednoho z velitelů tankového praporu, Západoukrajince kapitána Štěpána Vajdu, československého občana, později vyznamenaného Zlatou hvězdou hrdiny SSSR. Zuřivě bránící se Němci, kteří využili v některých místech staré československé řopíky, zde ztratili na 75 000 mužů. Pro přesnost a paní profesorku europoslankyni Danuši Nerudovou uvádím, že zde nepadl žádný příslušník amerických ozbrojených sil.

Ti mrtví rudoarmějci nemohou za to, že se svět zbláznil a že jednou politické zájmy zvítězí nad úctou a vyslovením slova díků, protože ti mrtví padli proto, abychom my mohli žít. Oni totiž to, co se dálo později, pozitivního i negativního, a co se děje dnes, nemohli ovlivnit. Jen někdo vzhledem ke své malosti a charakterové pokroucenosti si však může vybíjet svou nenávist na mrtvých a vlastně na těch, kterým by měl být možná i za svůj život vděčen.
