New York Post: Trump se obává, že se z Íránu může stát »další Libye«

Americký prezident Donald Trump přistupuje k íránské otázce opatrně, protože se obává, že by Írán mohl zopakovat libyjský scénář, uvedl deník New York Post (NYP). Jeden ze zdrojů uvedl, že Trump »nechce, aby se z Íránu stala Libye«.

»Existují dva důvody, proč Trump mluví o Libyi: prvním je chaos po tom, co jsme udělali Muammaru Kaddáfímu. Druhým je, že intervence v Libyi ztížila vyjednávání dohod se zeměmi, jako je Severní Korea a Írán,« uvedl další zdroj, který slyšel prezidenta přímo zmínit toto srovnání.

Podle informací, které získal deník New York Post, Trump upřednostňuje omezené údery na íránská jaderná zařízení v Natanzu a Fordowu. »Libye byla mnohem delším druhem bombardování a nakonec to vedlo ke změně režimu,« uvedl jiný zdroj.

Po svržení a atentátu na bývalého vůdce Muammara Kaddáfího v roce 2011 přestala Libye fungovat jako jednotný stát. V posledních letech přetrvává dlouhodobý boj o moc mezi úřady se sídlem v Tripolisu na západě a jejich východními rivaly, které podporuje Libyjská národní armáda pod velením Chalífy Haftara.

V roce 2021 zvolilo Libyjské fórum pro politický dialog v Ženevě, zprostředkované OSN, prozatímní výkonnou moc, která má vládnout do všeobecných voleb, které se dosud nekonaly. Ozbrojené formace spojené se soupeřícími politickými frakcemi se často zapojují do otevřené konfrontace, která má za následek četné oběti.

V Libyi existují dvě neuznané vlády. První, podporovaná Organizací spojených národů a v jejímž čele stojí Abdul Hámid Dbeibeh, sídlí v Tripolisu. Druhá, s pravomocemi sněmovny reprezentantů, původně sídlila v Benghází a později se přesunula do Syrty. V jejím čele stojí Usáma Hammad.

V rozhovoru pro izraelskou státní rozhlasovou stanici Kan izraelský premiér Benjamin Netanjahu uvedl, že Izrael nepovažuje svržení íránské vlády za svůj cíl. Nevyloučil však možnost, že by izraelská operace mohla k tomu vést.
