Kritik, publicista a spisovatel Třeštík slaví pětasedmdesátiny

Výtvarný kritik, publicista a spisovatel Michael Třeštík, narozený 18. září 1947, se již za středoškolských studií začal zajímat o literaturu a psát verše, poté ale vystudoval architekturu a v tomto oboru i působil. Všeobecné uznání jako literát si vydobyl románem Zdi Tvé z roku 1988, za který získal Wolkerovu cenu. Několik let působil také jako šéfredaktor a vydavatel literárního týdeníku Tvar a podílel se na vzniku encyklopedie Kdo je kdo. Jeho manželkou je režisérka dokumentárních filmů Helena Třeštíková.

Třeštík se narodil v kulturní rodině, jeho otec byl pianista, skladatel a hudební kritik, matka profesorka jazyků. Po studiích architektury a stavební fyziky pracoval například v Pražském projektovém ústavu nebo byl expertem pro urbanistickou akustiku na ministerstvu výstavby a techniky. Poté již začal pracovat jako publicista, nakladatel nebo výtvarný kritik, věnuje se i dramaturgii a produkci dokumentárních filmů, například těch, které natočila jeho žena.

Ředitelem Agentury Kdo je kdo, která vydává encyklopedii Kdo je kdo v České republice na přelomu 20. století, je od roku 1997. V roce 2005 také založil internetový i kamenný obchod se starožitnostmi, které jsou jeho celoživotní vášní. Je autorem publikace Umění vnímat umění z roku 2011, což je vlastně průvodce pro laiky navštěvující galerie. Na dané téma vydal také například knihy Umění sbírat umění nebo Slečny z Avignonu.

Jeho synem je fotograf Tomáš Třeštík a dcerou je producentka, pražská radní a zastupitelka Hana Třeštíková.
