Izrael se nadále mstí Palestincům za to, že se obrátili na Mezinárodní soudní dvůr

Izrael pozastavil palestinskému ministrovi zahraničí platnost pasu, který mu umožňoval snazší přístup na okupovaný Západní břeh Jordánu, než mají běžní Palestinci. Podle webu The Times of Israel to uvedl sám palestinský ministr Rijád Málikí.

Jde o další ze sankcí Izraele proti Palestině, sdělil podle agentury Reuters kabinet izraelského premiéra Benjamina Netanjahua. Izrael přijal řadu postihů proti Palestině poté, co se OSN na palestinský popud rozhodlo obrátit se kvůli izraelské okupaci palestinských území na Mezinárodní soudní dvůr (ICJ).

Ministr Málikí řekl, že se o přerušení platnosti svého pasu dozvěděl, když se vracel z inaugurace brazilského prezidenta. Když překračoval hranici z Jordánska na Západní břeh přes Most krále Husajna (Allenbyho most), musel čekat hodinu společně s ostatními Palestinci. Udivení krajané se ho prý ptali, proč čeká stejně jako oni a nevyužije svého VIP vstupu.

Podle ministra se zrušení platnosti pasů týká i dalších vrcholných palestinských představitelů. Pozastavení platnosti Málikího speciálního pasu potvrdilo podle Reuters izraelské ministerstvo obrany.

Izraelská vláda v pátek schválila kroky, které mají potrestat Palestince za to, že přesvědčili Valné shromáždění OSN, aby zaujalo postoj k izraelské kontrole Západního břehu. Izrael v rámci postihů hodlá zastavit palestinské stavební plány v části okupovaného Západního břehu a zkrátit finanční příspěvky palestinské samosprávě.

Izrael za války v roce 1967 obsadil východní Jeruzalém, Západní břeh Jordánu i Pásmo Gazy, tedy oblasti, ve kterých Palestinci usilují o vytvoření nezávislého státu. Z Pásma Gazy se Izrael stáhl a nyní jej ovládá radikální hnutí Hamás. Na Západním břehu Jordánu žije skoro 500 000 izraelských osadníků a téměř tři miliony Palestinců.
