Slováci inkasovali »bůr« od Lotyšska a na MS skončí již v základní skupině

Hokejisté Lotyšska dnes v základní skupině A porazili Slovensko překvapivě vysoko 5:1 a k postupu do vysněného čtvrtfinále jim chybí jen jediný bod ze zítřejšího klíčového duelu proti Rakousku. Naopak Slováci končí na šampionátu již v základní skupině a nic na tom nemůže změnit ani jejich poslední střetnutí s Finskem v úterý.

Rakušané dnes vyhráli nad slovinským nováčkem 3:2 po samostatných nájezdech a připsali si třetí výhru na turnaji. Přesto nejsou proti Lotyšsku v komfortní situaci, navíc lepší z tohoto měření sil má jistotu, že se ve vyřazovacích bojích utká s lídrem protilehlé skupiny v Dánsku.

Potupnou desítku inkasovali v »české« skupině B v Herningu Madaři od Švýcarů, kteří se tím pádem posunuli na první příčku, nicméně český tým stále třímá v rukou vítězné karty. K postupu z první příčky, a tím pádem k duelu s Lotyšskem či Rakouskem, mu kromě zítřejšího očekávaného vítězství nad Německem (od 16.20) chybí výhra za dva body v úterním závěrečném skupinovém duelu proti USA.
